Video 9 Question 9, Day 1, Berlin, 0417-0605

4:17
So I taught in this one little town near Seattle, Washington and so many of the people there finally had Reiki after about 5 years. Because by that time there were myself and then a master I initiated who was also doing Reiki classes there and so on and the town at the time was maybe, I don’t know, 20’000 people. And they estimated that 5’000 people at one point had Reiki, that’s a quarter of the town. And she said, you know, if somebody falls on the street, the people run out of the shops and give the person Reiki. Or, you know, if somebody is dying…

Or if somebody…
5:17
Or if somebody is diagnosed with cancer then, you know, they just have the sign-up list, where everybody signs up to give this person Reiki every day, you know, and sometimes 2 or 3 Reiki treatments a day if they are open to it. So it’s this really beautiful community that was already had their community intact, some of these families have lived there for like 10 generations. And so they just took on this Reiki as a part of their communitive service. And their way of relating to each other as community members. And I found that to be amazing and I’m sure that that happens in lots of different cities, in neighborhoods, you know in little townships and so on.

Video 73 Question 26, Day 3, Arizona, 0917-1120

9:17
There would be a training about relationship between other professionals. Many Reiki people that I know have issues around allopathic medicine and some times other kinds of healing practices. I don’t like to use the words complementary or alternative because for me neither one of them actually fit. It feels like they become sort of secondary. And actually it’s up to the person who’s being treated whether or not they make Reiki their primary care or their secondary care…..
10:03
So, when I talk to people who are offering complementary care, like for cancer patients, for instance, I try to talk to them about what their sense is of this word “complementary”. And I guess for me though I don’t like it, it’s a step in the right direction, but I rather get to the direction, which is to have Reiki seen as a genuine possibility/choice, a genuine option, for people for all conditions. And that acupuncture is a genuine option and choice for all conditions and so on. So that the allopathic medicine doesn’t necessarily have the first row seat. Now, it takes a lot… because it takes a lot of courage for people who have things that are actually not life threatening to go to what is now called “complementary therapy”.

Video 74 Question 27, Day 3, Arizona, 0000-0127

0:00
The question is, do I… start again
0:12
The question is, do I consider Reiki a complementary therapy or just a spiritual practice? Well there are two things that I have to adjust in the question. First of all I don’t consider… I don’t like the term “complementary therapy”, so I don’t consider Reiki to be a complementary therapy. I consider Reiki to be a bonified option for anybody who wants to have benefit on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level.
0:49
Reiki is a healing practice, not a complementary practice. It is often why people come to becoming a Reiki student and for sure it is the aspect of this practice that people come to be relieved of symptoms or perhaps to have some condition corrected in the physical body or in other bodies.

Video 74 Question 27, Day 3, Arizona, 0127-0245

1:27
In the practice that I teach and maintain Usui Shiki Ryoho I have four different aspects: the healing practice, personal development, spiritual discipline and mystic order. And for me the 1st degree student in their first class in their first Reiki treatment experiences each of these, maybe just for a fleeting second, but it’s there.
2:01
So I would like to generalize into all Reiki practice, because I think that this is true from what I have observed and what I have heard from Reiki practitioners in many, many different forms of practice, that Reiki comes and it heals in the large sense of the word and the small sense of the word, it provokes, often our practice provokes own personal development and Reiki treatments can provoke a personal development process in the person that we are treating.
