You know her masters have taken her personality and her way of being with Reiki and taken in upon themselves to further that. And as a master who initiates other masters, there are masters that I’ve initiated, that I feel very much affinity to and somehow our personalities are very much the same and so it feels like they carry a part of my legacy without knowing it. And I believe that the masters that Beth Gray initiated there, do the same thing. That she was looking for someone specifically to carry this piece of her legacy, which she has done. And it’s a gift and a challenge in and of itself.

It is my hope that my legacy will be that I not only invited the Reiki community to move to a higher expression but to have guided it so that it became a higher expression of itself. And what I mean by this, and I don’t mean to be critical of where we are because every level of expression is necessary and needs to be lived thoroughly, it’s a little bit like growing up as a human being: You know, we need to live babydump (0:46) thoroughly or it gets stuck somewhere. We need to live adolescence thoroughly, we need to live young adulthood thoroughly. And what we’re moving into as a community for me is a maturity, but it needs to what I feel like Reiki is asking of all of us is…

Is to do this reconciliation not for reconciliation’s sake but as a stepping stone to the next stage of development of this practice, and I mean practice globally. That is to be able to … develop into a practice that serves humanity and serves life. That’s very, very clear from the self-treatment of those individuals to associations and groups of people who do specific projects to the global community that actually votes and informs the government leaders of our times and that actually make a difference on a political and on a spiritual and on a mental level and the only way we can do that is to act together.

I was thinking about a reaction that I have about ant colonies, you know these little in German “Ameisen” and you know I see them start one or two ants in my brick sidewalk at home and I think oh, oh and in a week the whole colony has moved you know their home underneath my sidewalk and the brick is starting to subside into the earth and you know they don’t think about “oh, we are going to move here and create destruction”. They are just moving there because it’s a nice place to live.

What happens for me is that I can’t “control” them unless I kill them and it is now very difficult for me to say “ok, I killed this colony because they are destroying my sidewalk made out of brick”. So now, what do I do? This is my spiritual dilemma now, you know. And people laugh at me when I say you know, I would never even think twice about gasing these things, but now I have so much respect for their willingness to organize, for understanding of the power of being together, of the way that they can work and make a difference and the way that they… have their place in the grand scheme of nature, that they bring the dirt from in the earth and bring it up and allow it to breathe and aerate the soil and do all of this stuff so that trees and other plants can grow so that other creatures of the earth can find a home and you know it just goes on and on and on…

So what is it that we as human beings can offer? We have so many gifts to offer and we are locked in petty battles between each other, simply because somebody has to be right and somebody has to be wrong. That was the first lesson I learned in Reiki: There’s no right and wrong, not in the universe it is only in my mind. And the way that I got this was simple: You put your hands on somebody and your hands are like burning up and so after the treatment you think, you say to the person “Wow, that treatment was so amazing, my hands were so hot”, and you expect the other person to say “Yes, I mean I thought you were gonna like burn my head to a cinder”. But instead they say “Your hands were so cold, I thought I would have to tell you, take them off, because you’re freezing my brain”. And I just, you know, kind of go … and think wow, how could this happen that this person can have such a different experience exactly in the same time… I mean there is no way for my mind to escape

this paradox.

And when my mind gets that there is no escape but only to grow bigger only to be able to hold both truths at the same time equally, then I’ve grown, my mind has grown, my heart has grown and I have consistently done this every day in lots of different ways. And that’s for me the essential lesson of the practice of Reiki.
6:39
If we could accept … and… accept that and live our life in that way, it would change our whole community and it would also change the global community in which we live.

So I feel that… it’s not something that I made up, because I just see that the steps even through the lineage bearers of discovery and establishment of creating system perhaps and being able to pass that on to a woman who was the ultimate practitioner, who tested the system in all different ways including taking it from one culture to another and finding that she gave something to the world that actually could go around the world and come back to Japan and serve as a provocateur for the Reiki that was left in Japan to rise up again.

Now with all this energy moving forward, moving into the future we need to have
0811 (cough)
0814 With all this momentum and moving into the future it is clear to me that Reiki is saying “Ok, now you are ready for the big picture”. You know the world is not about Mommy and Daddy, my Reiki Master, my lineage, it’s about our Reiki and it’s about our gift to humanity. And once we have this over-arching understanding of what we have to offer the world, then we can develop our individual selves and our local communities to meet and to serve in that way…..

I’d like to be known as the person who saw that and fanned the flames.
