(0009) Well for me one of the things that was really interesting right at the time that she died, because of her emphasis on physical healing.. people really.. and because of our American minds, which were very shallow and only saw the first you know millimetre of what she was teaching us and it was totally on the physical level. It got transferred into technique.

Now the difference between technique and a spiritual practice is that technique has to be a recipe and if you don’t follow the recipe then you don’t get the results. But in a spiritual practice you are taught a practice and it is through that practice and your own development that you get the result. So it’s a huge difference and it’s a huge different perspective. So one of the things that I see a lot of people doing these days, especially the researchers is that they don’t get this difference between technique and a spiritual practice.

So they are trying to find the answers to a technique but they don’t understand that they are dealing with a spiritual practice. So there are going to be unknowns and there are going to be little black holes in our information, but I believe if we hold those black holes as black holes, they actually will be filled one day because some piece of information, something will come up and then we’ll go “wow, we get it”, right?

I feel that one of our great lessons in our society is to be able to hold uncertainty and to be able to hold the unknown until it becomes known. And it’s not this particular practice of a master is not supported by our culture, which is.. you know in the information age, which is if you have the information then you are the man or you are the woman that’s, you know, the go to person. I don’t want to be the go to person, you know, this is not me. I am a student of this practice and I can encourage other students of this practice but I am not an expert, no one is an expert and you only get experts in technique…

So my experience of the US$ 10’000 is that people receive the US$ 10’000 through.. when they are ready through the universe by totally miraculous ways. I mean even the people who have the money in the bank, really don’t have the money in the bank. I mean people have more money in the bank but for some people because they inherited or they worked hard for it or they won the lottery, but most people don’t spend US$ 10’000 on a whim. And you know Reiki Master candidates are asked to give these 10’000 saying this is all that I have, this is what represents my life commitment to Reiki. And it means something to them. It’s not a matter of bucks in the bank, definitely not…..

It’s part of our spiritual practice. So if we were talking about a technique this is the thing that I keep hammering away, if we talk about a technique of course you can shop and say “ok, I want to learn Swedish massage and in this school I go for, you know, 6 months, you know 2 hours a day and I pay this amount of money. For somebody.. for another school I go for a year but I go all day but it costs me 5 times more. So I can choose which one I want, what kind of technique building I want to get. But here you are talking about a spiritual practice. And everybody, as far as I’m concerned, has the capability to hand me US$ 10’000 when they’re ready. And it has proven to be so time after time after time. And most of these people, this is the most money they’ve ever accumulated in their lifetime and probably never will again.
